Our Rabbi

Rabbi Josh Appel serves as the Rabbi of YIHH-WP, bringing a passion for Torah, Halacha, history, and Jewish thought to our community. A Summa Cum Laude graduate in history from Yeshiva University with semikha from RIETS, he blends deep scholarship with an appreciation for modern challenges. His thought-provoking sermons and classes emphasize the moral and philosophical dimensions of Jewish life, always approaching questions through the lens of the Torah. Rabbi Appel lives in Hills Hills with his wife, Shoshana, and together they are dedicated to fostering a warm and engaging synagogue community.
